Cities: Taipei, Singapore, Sydney, Edinburgh, Hangzhou(picked from the cities that I have visited) Characteristics: infrastructure(ease to transport/housing/education etc.), affordability(price of daily goods compared to average income), sanitation, population density, richness of resort facilities(such as shopping malls, parks, museums, theatres etc. places people can go to have some fun on the weekends) My city Nanjing has a densed population, thanks to which the government is willing to invest money in building public transportation system such as a complicated underground metro network. The affordability is okay, except for the sky-rocketing housing price. It used to be polluted. But the situation improved as factories moved further away from the main city. And sure enough, it is a city with a lot of leisure resorts. There are three shopping malls near my home within 20 minutes of walk. In order to make the city more sustainable and resilient, I think it would be great if future planning of the city help to put the transportation system in better use. More strict laws can be implemented to make sure the pollution is under control. Citizens can be encouraged to live green.
