In the United States Petroleum and Natural Gas are the two main fossil fuels used to generate power. The majority of U.S. power goes towards industrial and transportation needs. If it were my job to improve the environmental friendly and sustainable sources and consumption of energy of my country, the first thing I would do would start public subsidies in solar and wind. I would redirect all money going towards oil and coal production and fracking into the speedy constitution of renewable power plants. I would also redirect money from the EPA into renewable energy R&D.
