Water towers and supplies can be seen around Poole through the processing plants based around the industrial areas, with water transport generally being invisible as pipework is situated underground. The effects of our dependence on water are especially apparent currently, as the water shortage means that gardens and parks cannot be watered, leading to dead grass and plants. This has also led to multiple heath and woodland fires across the UK, which are made more serious by the shortage of available water in the regions affected
