2 – The I live in Rio de Janeiro and it is a hot city. The vegetation that you see in the picture is usually seen in my neighborhood, but even with their shading the streets are still hotter than the rural area. As you can identify in the picture the streets are wide, what makes a lot of heat being irradiated over the asphalt even with trees they can`t cover all the asphalt space, and at night, the asphalt that is still hot starts to change temperature with the atmosphere and make the weather hotter, than it should be. 3- First of all, I think that another material rather than asphalt should be given attention to. It absolves a lot of heat and for itself is a UHI creator. Another thing that should be reviewed the lack of urban trees out of my neighborhood. 4- Desenvolvimento Urbano de Baixo Carbono–(Low carbon urban development) is a program by the government that invested in public transportation like BRS and VLT to reduce private cars on the street. What helps the traffic and also reduce the CO2 emission. This program also invested in bicycles over the city to encourage People to use it.
