Living in Kenya I have very far distances to commute to school at the start of each term. Both routes involve driving to the airport, taking around 2 hours and then getting an 8 hour flight from Jomo Kenyatta International Airport to Heathrow Airport. After this, in route 1 I would get a 1 and a half hour taxi from the airport to school, however this route is very expensive. In doing this, the total time for route 1 would be around 11.5 hours. For route 2, after arriving at the airport I would get a tube into London Waterloo, taking approximately 1 hour, and then from there take a tube to London Euston, a 20 minute journey. From London Euston I then get a half an hour train to Milton Keynes, where I am collected by a school bus which takes me back to school, another 30 minute journey. The total travel time for route 2 is 12 hours and 20 minutes, however it is a much cheaper means of transportation.
