I am Carmen and submitting this from Johannesburg in South Africa The 3 stocks and flows I have identified in my area (complex i live in) are : water, food and electricity. Water: • Comes in via rain & municipality, gets stored in tanks,used for the garden and for human consumption and house hold usage and leaves the complex via the underground water systems or sewage Future: all could be harvested by rain stored and cleaned on site and used and recycled again Food: • Is grown in our garden and on fields globally, gets consumed directly or is transported from field to store to our homes and turned into vitamins/minerals for the body or into compost after it goes back into the garden, or it leaves the building as sewage Future: much more could be grown by ourselves for own consumption, surplus could be exchanged with neighbouring buildings that do the same Electricity: • Is generated and by km long tracks distributed to our door, gets used by the inhabitants and is then depleted Future: we generate our electricity our self via solar and wind power, our excess gets shared with neighboring buildings and or stored
