Step 1: 1) Melbourne 2) Quebec City 3) Rimouski 4) Longueuil 5) Berlin Step 2: 1) Acceptability of others and neighborhood 2) Weather and climate 3) Mobility 4) Access to needed product & services 5) Crime and violence Step 3: My current city is Longueuil. 1) The neighborhood is really open. Multicultural and very open. 2) The climate is good but you need to be used to support cold weather during winter (-20 Celsius) 3) Mobility is bad. Being the suburb of Montreal, all buses and subways lines are focus on bringing you to or from Montreal. Nothing to move around the suburbs. 4) Services, stores is good. Everything is close (at least by a quick drive 5 minutes car). 5) Crime and violence is ok. Not too much, but being so close to Montreal still brings violence and crime from the big city. Ideas for more sustainability: - Compost system within the city (today we only recycle and have standard garbage collection) - Better public transportation system for inter suburbs - Subsidy for better EV adoption (reduction of noise and pollution) - Push for more electricity focus (ours is hydro therefore really cheap + renewable)
