1. Which are your top livability criteria? a. Economy b. Education c. Health Care d. Housing e. Transportation 2. Why do we live where we live? I live in Guayaquil – Ecuador and these are the reason why I live here: a. I was born and raised here b. My family and friends live here c. I like the fact that because of Ecuador´s geography or land. You can take your car, drive a couple hours and enjoy many natural landscapes. You can go to the beach, cascades, mountains, jungle and to an island (Galapagos, by boat or plain). d. We have a lot of natural resources everywhere. People need to learn how to exploit them better. e. Comfort of living. Even though the economy in my country is not that good. I have some comforts that I am glad to have and that I know, it wouldn’t be easy to have them somewhere else. 3. To what extend does your own place of residence fulfill your ideal livability criteria? a. Economy - 75 b. Education - 90 c. Health Care - 80 d. Housing - 85 e. Transportation – 90 A general livability score for Guayaquil could be 45 4. What would you change? I would begin with education. Is better to teach people how to make money, than paying bonus to unemployed people. I would try to make outside companies to put their fabrics here with the condition that they have to use our people for workforce. That would generate jobs and improve the economy. With those two thing I would have a more prepare and independent society. Then I would work in health care plans, improving the public transportation and try to find a better way to give loams for housing. In third world countries like Ecuador, is also important to improve the security in the streets. Because of the high crime rate. 5. Why do we move? I am not looking to move right now. But if I did, I would like to go to: a. Sydney: I have always like the idea of living in Australia. But also because the job opportunities, environment or landscapes, weather, culture level and their living philosophy. b. Singapore: Nowadays a popular and growing city. Because is constantly growing it offers jobs opportunities, a comfort and affordable way of living, education improvement, nice environment and type of life. c. Vancouver: I am not a fan of Canada´s weather, but they give facilities to people from other countries to go and live there. They have many job fields that are hiring people. Is a safe country lo live, you can keep studying and improving yourself. And is an open minded community with a big diversity of races because of their attempts to bring people from other countries. Canada is a BIG country, with not enough citizens.
