Because tourism is the main source of income there is a dead feeling in the low season(s). Positive: stability and safety; efforts of local government to involve the inhabitants in the decisions of the village. Change: bring more balance between tourism and other kinds of enterprises. The places we know, we know as tourists, e.g. I loved Vienna as a tourist, but distrust the political power - a reason I wouldn't want to live there.
