To support your statements you are asked to provide one or more images from your area of residence, that describe the reasons you selected. 1. I have a good job, there are reasonable number of job offers and rents aren’t very expensive, prices in general are good. With a not very big salary you can live confortable. 2. There are a considerable cultural offer, and generally affordable. A lot of social centres, good music scene, and groups of people organising things. 3. There are plenty of perks and green areas inside and nearby the city. It’s easy to access to nature and the country side. 4. I found Leeds quite safe, there are some areas no so much. But in general I feel I can move freely without feeling “in danger”. 5. Good size city. Distances are not very big, so access to the different areas inside and in the outskirts of the city is usually easy. 3. To what extend does your own place of residence fulfill your ideal livability criteria? On a scale from 1-100 rate to what extend your place of residence fulfills your ideal livability criteria (i.e. the top-5 criteria you selected in Question 1). Provide also a general livability score for your city, using the same scale (1-100). 1. k. Job Opportunities – 70% 2. e. Environment – 70% 3. n. Safety – 75% 4. p. Transportation – 65% 5. g. Health Care – 65% I would give Leeds a 70% livability score. 4. What would you change? Imagine that you were the mayor of your place of residence. Which would be the first measure you would take to improve livability? I probably would start improving the transport and the accessibility. There is still some lack of connection to some parts of the city and the price could be lower. There is not a proper cycle alternative, the roads need to be rethought and include cycle paths, as at the moment the city is not safe for cyclists. Considering its size and the big presence of green spaces and parks, better connections and a cycle system would improve the sustainable movement of people significantly. 5. Why do we move? In this last part of the exercise, we want you to name three places that you would select to move in case you decided to change a place of residence. In addition, provide us with 5 qualities of these places that played an important role during your decision process. Order them with the most important at the top of your list. - Madrid, New York, Amsterdam - Career Opportunities, multiculturalism, interesting architecture and environment (parks and public space), cultural offer and international connectivity.
