My list of most livable cities accroding to my own experience from the places I've been: 1. Kazan, Russia - Light cozy city with greatful people that honour their traditions 2. Almaty, Kazakhstan - My hometown located at the bottom of magnificent mountains 3. San Diego, USA - the most comfortable city in US, modern, well-placed and with charming views 4. Istanbul, Turkey - despite it's dense population, cultural heritage makes it very interesting place to live 5. Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan - likeness and proximity to my hometown, delicious food and wide steets City liveablity characteristics: 1. Comfort, sense of self 2. Ecology, environment condition 3. Habitant mindset, quality of people 4. Nature nearness (mountains, sea, river, forest) 5. Personal safety Proposals for my hometown: 1. Sense of self - I was born and grown up in this city. Knowing mostly every backstreet and bench on it, gives icredible feeling of being home. Participcating and contributing to city development objectively strengthens this feeling. 2. Ecological condition is getting worse day by day. Decreasing count of petrol vehicles, transfering TPP (termal power plant) to work on gas, instead of charcoal, can significantly improve the city ecology. 3. People that surround composes overall mood in city. Habitants in Almaty are hospitable, creative, tolerant, progressive, active. It would be nice to have some kind of Citizen Code, that every citizen or guest should learn and sign on. 4. Mountains give freshness, inpiration and as minimum - will for live. Preservation of greenaries, that city is full of, have to become goal for city council. 5. Crime activity decreased in relation to overall economic growth. There is always space for growth, particularly integration of technological solutions, such as video surveillance, light sensors, provision of policemen with live information.
