(I do not see an option to upload more images) 1. Ecosystem services in your living area a. Provisioning services: Sea. A regulated ecosystem that provides fish and clams for inhabitants, work for a small amount of fisher (both commercial and private citizens) and a growing aquaculture. The last are controversial since there is much debate how much it pollutes and destroys the very ecosystem it lives from. b. Regulating services: Scattered throughout the city are green areas which soak a lot of the rainwater which would otherwise be a burden for the sewers. Less green areas (especially does located at lower altitudes) has had some problems in especially rainy periods. c. Habitat or Supporting services: Around the city we cultivate different habitats. But a current project tries to put focus on the different habitats in the city. Amongst them how there is an ecosystem between urban city dwellers behavior and some animals. In Aarhus, we have a lot of huge seagulls acting as garbage and waste cleaners. Since they eat everything there need to be some regulation so they don’t end of eating stuff that harm them. d. Cultural services: We have for example a botanical garden and an indoor greenhouse run by biologist from the university. Inside you can find huge global biodiversity and cultural education about what consumer produce comes from trees and plants. Also, you can just take a relaxing walk.
