What are the dominant fossil fuels used in your country? Use www.iea.org/sankey to discover it (Hint: e aware of the flow of the energy in the Sankey diagram. Sometimes a part of the production of energy goes to the export of a country. Exported energy won't be consumed by your country itself)? In terms of consumption the biggest is oil which we also extract the Northern Sea. Where are the dominant fossil fuels mainly used for in your country? (e.g. transport, industry, non-energy use etc.)? Biggest consumer of oil is transport on roads, second is other (residential and agriculture) and third is industry. It is your task to create a new policy in order to improve the environmental friendly and sustainable sources and consumption of energy of your country. How would you do that? Think of how you can improve the sources and the consumption of energy. Since 2/3 of the oil consumption in Denmark are used in transport it would be obvious to start here. 1. Incentive electric vehicles. 2. Deincentive oil and diesel vehicles. 3. Improve public transport. 4. Electrivise the public transportation infrastructure. 5. Produce electricity more sustainable using windmills = set up more windmills. 6. Develop and implement more energy storage capabilities (on stormy days we produce ridiculously amounts of surplus electricity). 7. Set up better energy network with nations surrounding Denmark.
