This photo was captured last July 2013 during a rainy season in Manila. As shown in the photo, the following are the visible information: - Housing typologies in the slum area - Some structures had mixed-use concept --> House with blue grills have a sari-sari store (convenience store in barangay-based) - Built-up environment affects the flooding in the site - Waterlines were submerged to the puddle Invisible information - Vulnerability of the people to different hazards (e.g. flooding, fire, liquefaction, etc.) - Behavioral pattern of the residents: how do they access their homes if their pedestrian path is flooded, activities that were stopped during the rainy/flooding season - Condition of the environment - Health and sanitation issues These invisible information are indicative and are considerations in designing of an accessible, acceptable, healthy housing complex for the residents. It is a way in addressing the existing problems and perceived consequences of their environment.
