Empire State Building The Empire State Building located in New York City is one of the most recognized pieces of architecture in the United States. Being made with steel as its primary material/component, we can recognized how the steel industry is one of the industries with the biggest trade deficit in the country. What this means is that the materials being used for this recognized building are being imported in high quantities. The steel industries trade deficit in the US is notable, and it is also to be observed that the steel being imported has an 81% of importers from 10 main countries which include: Canada, Brazil, South Korea, Mexico, Turkey, Japan, Russia, etc.. Observing the big numbers of imported materials from this countries we can determine that at its construction date in the 1920´s / 1930´s there is a certainty that the steel used for the construction of the building was being imported from the countries mentioned previously. The presence of a globalized economy in this case stands out due to the fact that the proportion of the building as well as the impact of it in the US society have been trusted to importers of different materials. The fact of having materials not very often seen in the U.S and its buildings we can observe the presence of a globalized idealism allows for countries to benefit from each other. Having comprehensive trades that benefit one countries economy while helping another countries infrastructure is one of the aspects that stand out the most from this process of import/export. Finally by observing at a building created approximately 80-90 years ago containing materials that are not very commonly seen in the countries infrastructure, allows for us to conclude that since early years we have seen countries in a constant interest to trade with other countries for mutual benefit.
