This picture reveals the increasing use of concrete blocks in a developing African country: Burkina Faso. The cement is now used in every new construction, letting apart the natural materials of the country, laterite and banco, which are too sensitive to weather conditions, especially to the abundance of water during the rainy seasons. In villages, the huts are more and more superseded by this globalized material: it is a sign of "wealth", a visible proof of development and therefore a reason to be proud for the inhabitants.
