Me and my family we daily bycicle to work and school; comuting takes around 20 minutes by bycicle in a safe, green and well maintained bycicle path which not only crosses through the neighbourhood, but also has priority over cars, who have to yield. There are several parks and playgrounds along the way, which makes it very pleasant commute. We live in the suburbs of Arnhem, the Netherlands. Sometimes there several weeks go by without even using the family car. If the weather turns very bad to cycle, we can take the trolley bus (electric), which has an extended well served network, runs on time and is confortable and modern. I see no reason to use the car at all. For daily errons, e.g. supermarket, we are within walking distance.
