Order them placing the most important at the top of the list. * Step 3: Describe the status of your own city in terms of the five characteristics that you listed above. Propose how your city should/could be transformed in relation to these characteristics in order to be more sustainable. Five most liveable cities that I know: 1. Paris, France 2. Madrid, Spain 3. Rome, Italy 4. Rio de Janeiro, Brazil 5. São Paulo, Brazil Five characteristics of a liveable city: 1. Public spaces 2. Pedestrian scale 3. Slow traffic 4. Street commerce 5. Walkable My own city: I consider Paris the most liveable city that I know because it gathers all the characteristics that I thought are important for a city. Before living in Paris I lived in São Paulo, in Brazil, and even São Paulo being a nice city and liveable, the dependency of private transportation and the high speed of the city leaves space for improvements.
