Based on this, your task for this week is to describe your own idea for a Citizen Design Science project! Today in Paris, the most concrete project for me would be traffic. A public inquiry conducted near Parisians would show that no one is satisfied. Whether pedestrians, cars, bicycles, buses, motorbikes, taxis or subway users, everyone agrees that something needs to be changed. In the organization of traffic today, there is not enough room for everyone: buses, bicycles and cars do not all have their way and it is dangerous. In addition, public transport is not always adapted to the number of people or the schedules requested. There should be more means available at peak times and also reduce the number of vehicles in traffic at off-peak hours to limit pollution. It is also necessary to propose more destinations and routes to reduce the number of private vehicles, this vision is currently being developed with the Greater Paris project which will make it easier to connect the suburbs with each other and with the centre of Paris. In order to improve the safety of Parisians in transport, it would be necessary to create more specific lanes for cyclists, buses and cars. However, it is necessary to keep the parking spaces, or even to create additional ones, so that the parking cars do not block the traffic. To limit pollution, it would also be beneficial to promote the use of bicycles and electric vehicles. It will then be necessary to provide users with charging stations for their vehicle. To ensure that the improvements correspond to the expectations of the Parisians, they will have to be provided with scoring means, surveys where they will be able to express themselves on the positive points and points to be further improved. They will also be able to indicate the danger zones, those where there are still corks, those where it is difficult to find electricity for vehicles ... All the remarks will help to improve the traffic in Paris. It may be of interest for the construction of new roads to use permeable materials in areas that allow it to allow rainwater to flow into the ground to recharge the aquifer. It will also be of interest to put as much green space as possible to reduce air pollution.
