1. Think and comment on an existing Citizen Design Science project in urban design and planning from your area or country. All the projects in Jaffna or Northern Province are top level approach. Main issue in the development project is lack of money therefore most of the time projects are driven by funder (government or NGOs) and local officers are project implementing officers. 2. Habitats of a certain neighborhood don’t feel safe when they walk in their neighborhood in the evening and during the night. You are working for the local government and want to solve this problem through improvement of the public spaces. How would you start-up a Citizen Design Science project? Call discussion among the neighborhood people or their representatives with local government representative and designers. Or use social media to take part in the project Identify their issues in their neighborhood and listed the solutions what they suggest. Improve their solutions as designer in professional manner. Promote the neighborhood people to take some responsible in the implementation maintenance of the project. 3. Imagine that you have set up a project wherein you would like to make use of Citizen Design Science. Which guidelines are important in creating your own Citizen Design Science project? Observing – it is very important in observe the project area, people, their problem, culture, climate etc. Questioning – ask lot of question related to the project form the particular project related people. Planning - plan the work and how to use the collected data for the project Analyzing – it is important to extract the fact from the collected data Communicating - bring the final decision to all level and get the feed back
