Originally from Brisbane, Queensland, Australia, we currently live in a small town of about 9,500 people, Collie, Western Australia. We shifted to this small town because :- 1. There was a job opportunity for my wife 2. We could live closer to our daughter 3. It was an opportunity to see friends who we haven't been able to spend time with for a while 4. We wanted to work in the region because it has a number of natural attractions that we could explore 5. We wanted to experience small town life after having lived in cities for a long time Although small town life has many attractions it will never replace the facilities and services available in cities because the population is not big enough to support or pay for them. If cities created the sort of green spaces and ease of access we have here then city life could be more attractive to us.
