Which are the main UHI effects that you can identify in your area? As in every country the UHI effects depends on an “specific” area, in some parts of the city there are totally covered with concrete and bricks, but in this case I will talk about mi area of residence, in the surroundings there are a lot of parks and free space that contribute to avoid the UHI effects. Surrounding rural area Residence Source: Google Maps It’s obviously that in the surrounding rural area there aren’t UHI effects, in the case of the city is logic that UHI effects are present but in the photo, we can observed that are controlled by public space, green parks and space between the edifications Which are the measures you would propose? The proposal to reduce the UHI effect would be to design thinking in it, create more green/public spaces, a nice idea it’s to start thinking in green roofs and complete the architecture with the nature, avoid the over construction. The public spaces a green roofs or gardens would change the livability of the city Is UHI effect concerning policy making in your area? Bogota is a city that investigate a lot but don’t create projects to improve the city, the ideas are to recover the rivers and the public space, creating more green spaces/ parks and thinking in the interaction of the habitants making a better city but UHI effects isn’t a fact that is considering, the UHI effects aren’t exposed in the public so it’s something that the major part of the city have no idea
