Most liveable cities that I know 1. Barcelona, Spain 2. Vancouver, Canada 3. Sevilla, Spain 4. Madrid, Spain 5. Berlin, Germany What makes cities liveable 1. Climate and good air quality, 2. Access to interesting, meaningful jobs 3. Social policies - quantity of free time, social health insurance, 4. Access to culture and art, 5. Connections - within the city (good infrastructure, walkability, bike lanes, bus network...), connection to other closer cities, connection to the world, Where I live I am writing this from Vancouver, BC, Canada. Originally born and raised in Sevilla, Spain. Vancouver is a great city and it is always at the top of the rankings. I agree that the quality of live is very high, specially in terms of landscape, air quality, sustainability and opportunities for people. What I think the city lacks is in culture, have a weak culture identity and a incipient but still small art scene. Distances are very high and the streetscape is not well planned yet for the city to be fully walkable, it is only very enjoyable in certain areas as the seawall, but other areas of the city are deliberately not prepared to be walked. The bus network is not great, they are doing great with bike lanes, but still long ways to go. It is a rich city that could do more in social aspects, such help for homeless people and drug addiction. Really amazing surroundings and landscape allows people to enjoy outdoors activities, although the constant rain doesn't make it easy and pleasant. Spanish cities at the top of the list have many many other issues to be resolved, but the good ones make it worth living in them. Berlin just because visited and liked it. Mixed culture.
