"Construction used to be a localised activity, but with the advancement of construction processes and construction materials almost every building contains components of a globalized economy." In this photograph taken at the Hong Kong airport you can see elements from around the world gather in one location and built through the local labor force of the community. In this one photo you have glass from Germany, steel from America, acoustic ceiling panels from France; ect... Building elements past the residential and small commercial scale will require elements from around the world. It is a composition of the "best" elements from around the world to create an amazing building. You can find traces of almost every country put into these large buildings depending on how far you want to trace the elements back from the building element to where it was made to the equipment that made it to the parts that was made up of and where those were made. We are a globalized economy functioning in a centralized system.
