1. There is no official statistics about the UHI influence on Russian cities, but we can compare current temperatures in the center of Moscow vs. Moscow outskirts. For the 3pm 27th March the temperature in the city is +3; while outside Moscow (Podol’sk – Moscow suburb) is +5. So the difference between the urban and rural area is about 2 degrees, which is more or less permanent situation for this season. 2. The measures to reduce UHI effect are linked with minimization of motorization level in the whole city in general, and with intensive greening in the city center. 3. There is no direct anti-heat policy in Russian cities as the whole issue is just started to get elaborated. But there are ecological policy, which side effect might influence urban heat reduce.
