I’d like to say about stocks and flows in Moscow in global meaning. At first, internal migrants, who work in Moscow, are flow. Every day in Moscow density of people rises in the morning and turns down, because Moscow is a highly centralized city with a big amount of workplaces in the center, that motivates people to do this pendulum migration every work day (even in holidays, when people come from regions for cultural events for example). Centralization of Moscow is a real problem, but I hope, that projects of city planners and government will resolve this problem, but we all need several years of hard work to decentralize Moscow and rise amount, density and other characteristics of workplaces, infrastructure and make suburbs more attractive. In other way, international migrants are stock and flow. Moscow attracts a lot of migrants from the Middle Asia and counties-neighbors. I think smart migration politic could keep under control migration flow to take benefits from work forces of migrants and motivate citizens and migrants to work in higher quality. Also, Moscow could take benefits to make migration politic attractive for migrants of intellectual work from all over the world to make collaboration in different multinational projects. And the stock is Moscow native people. For different reasons they will stay all life in this city. The benefit for Moscow from this stock of native people is that these people are carriers of Moscow intellectual, historical and cultural heritage. But for nowadays Moscow population is about 12 300 000, but problems with migration statistic couldn’t give us a total number of all citizens, this number could be about 20 000 000 people. And for megapolice as Moscow it’s necessary to save it’s identity and not to become a totally global city of people flows.
