I could say that 99% of the days I choose to walk from home to University. It is the second fastest way (8 min) but the one with the most freedom. I do not have to wait for the bus nor for someone to drive me ( I do not own a driving lisence right now). It provides some quality time between waking up and starting lessons or studying. Listening to music, enjoying sun or just observe the landscape enhance this quality It is also possible that is a socializing time since many other students walk towards the same direction at the same time. Waiting time for car trffic to pass can add maximum one minute to travel time. Also there are many different paths to follow while walking and this adds up on the variety of landscape and makes walking even more attractive. Of course while walking there are parts where parked cars are on the pavement and accessibility is low. Pedestrians have to walk near the motorized traffic but they cover a distance of maximum 100 meters (not all in once). My route from home to University is importanty inclined. So it is also a type of physical exercise if I choose to walk faster than normal. To sum up, walking is free of cost( internal and external cost),I am totally free to choose when and how I will move depending on my own preference and it contributes a lot to my happiness. I have never taken the bus direclty to University but having done the Route walk-bus-walk, each one seperately, for different destinations I can be sure that is the slowest one, it does not save a lot of walking and it includes an important time to wait for the bus. So not one to be chosen no matter what the weather condition are. choosing to move by a private car it requires availability and offer of a family member to drive me. It is not usual thats these conditions are satisfied. It takes 3 minutes less than walking. Traffic is not so much, there are 2 traffic lights on this route, 30 sec and 1-2 minutes waiting for each one is possible (these delays are included in the 5 minutes route 3). There is a dangerous intersection where a lot of accidents have occured during the past years and this is a drawback of this route. It is also more expensive to choose the private car, cost both for the family and the environment. Car is a very good choice when weather is really bad, like heavy rain or extreme cold. It is difficult to walk in this inclined route when the roads are almost flooded. Although when rain is heavy there is also more traffic conjestion so this adds a lot of time to route 3. During cold days car is for sure more comfort but still it does not add to my happiness level so I do not consider it as a preferable option
