The mobility of citizens and lack of proper infrastructure to facilitate that in newly developed areas is a huge problem in India, as the cities are built first as groups of buildings, and designed for infrastructure and services later. This has led to much increase in private vehicle ownership and usage of cabs to complete trips to work and other requirements. For such areas of residential use, the first step is to encourage proper feeder system distribution for walkable distances of 500m from the place of residence, connecting to arterial or public transportation system upto a maximum distance of 3kms. An app-based project can be designed to locate similar trip destinations from a local area, in order to decrease personal vehicle use and promote shared automobiles.
