Divinopolis' economy is based mostly on steel and textile industries. Over the years this has created several stocks to the city in the form of factories, storage sheds, a railroad that cuts through the city, hotel buildings and shopping centers specific for wholesales of clothes. In regard to the flows, we can say that money and materials are the most significant in quantity. But also people that come by every day to visit the numerous shopping centers specialized in wholesales. Recently, an university was installed in Divinopolis, creating a strong flow of people that come here every day from near cities to study. This also created a stock of new low priced residential buildings near this university to house students from far away cities that can't travel every day, so they prefer to reside here. With China's growing competitiveness in the steel market, several factories have closed, leaving behind abandoned buildings. That could be considered a negative stock, that decreases desirability and land value in the vicinities.
