2. The main UHI effects that I can identify in my area: In my place the difference between temperatures in the city and surrounding rural area is about 3-5°C. The difference between building density you can see at photos. Lets compare two images in terms of reasons that contribute to the UHI effect of the city. It is clear that absorption of heat by buildings and road surface is higher in the city (heat island). Other aspects are waste, noise pollution etc. 3. The measures I would propose: In order to reduce it and provide a more livable environment to the citizens I you would propose: -Strict restrictions of building parameters ( a width of street canyons, building height in different categories of districts etc) -Reducing private car transportation in order to construct more extencive walkways, green areas) -moving big factoties away from the city 4.
