I live in Spearfish South Dakota Environment 60 Education 90 Political stability 80 Infrastructure 80 Recreational Opportunities 80 I give my location an 80 III. Ideal Livability Criteria: Based on the criteria I selected, I give a rating of (80) for Spearfish. IV. If I were mayor of Spearfish I would be interested in finding ways to first of all invest in sustainability in our infrastructure. We live in a place that will be very affected by climate change and we need to be at the forefront of dealing with this, through proactive measures to make our way of life cost less as well as create less environmental problems. Education is very strong here our town houses a great university and wonderful schools. I would definitely partner with the university and the school system to do some joint ventures to improve the quality of life for Spearfish residents. Political stability is a tough one our state is pretty stable just inconsistent with our practices. We vote of low tariffs but rely on the federal government for a lot of our finances. I would work to improve this. Our actions and ideals do not work together and make us look uninformed. Infrastructure can be improved by increasing the ways that our products get to us. Right now we just receive goods through truck delivery. I would push for a rail line to come to town the improve our stability with importing food and other goods. I would continue to push for more local recreational opportunities. This town has historically pushed very hard for recreational opportunities but they often leave the people without as much money out of the picture. V.
