1. Check the temperature differences in US cities I have done this. 2. Which are the main UHI effects that you can identify in your area? We have a lot of vertical buildings and not a lot of space. Lots of vents blowing the AC discharge, too many car putting off emissions, sometimes stagnant air hanging around. I was only able to attach one image. 3. Which are the measures you would propose? We're a pretty green city but we could stand to reduce this effect by having more rooftop gardens, this seems to be happening on a lot of high rise buildings. Most of the city is color coordinated with blue and grey tones, so we could also lighten that up with some white buildings to cool it down. 4. Is UHI effect concerning policy making in your area? We have something called the Seattle Green Factor which has a score sheet and tries to mitigate the UHI by using different methods of construction to try to perfect the effectiveness of buildings. Mainly for tight spaces such as the downtown core.
