This route, between my apartment and my family home in Orange County, California, is often an example I point to when frustrated with public transportation in Southern California. It actually takes *longer* to take the bus rather than bike, which seems illogical for a 10 mile journey. I will choose to bike if the weather is comfortable and I am not attending a formal event later that day, since I will be casually dressed to bike. If I have reading to work on or it is too hot, I will take the bus. I will also take the bus if I am traveling during busy traffic times of day, since biking requires me to cross several major intersections that are dangerous.
