Modes of transportation from Lower Manhattan to offices in Long Island City. I usually take the subway train as it is usually the fastest and most efficient way to get from point a to point b in New York City. When taking the train it allows freedom of movement without having to be concerned with vehicular traffic, parking or the cost of fuel. When there is no traffic or the weather is a certain way, I prefer to drive as it allows me the comfort, safety and privacy of my car while also being able to adjust the temperature in the cabin. Walking is great for exercise and for short distances but for work it would simply take too long to get across town. The bus like the subway is very crowded but unlike the subway it has to deal with vehicular traffic. Bicycles are great but you have to constantly be on caution for bad drivers and safely storing your bicycle. Suffice to say, I wish everything were within walking distance as that would be the most preferential mode of transportation other than driving in a city free of any automobile traffic. Walking: 1 ½ hours-2 ½ hrs (depending on how fast I walk and weather etc.) Bicycle: 39 Min Subway: 25-35 Min Bus: 45 min -1 hour Car: 20 Min-1hr (depending on traffic)
