Question 1. Which are your top livability criteria? 1. Economy 2. Safety 3. Climate 4. Infrastructure 5. Political stability Question 2. Why do we live where we live? I currently living in Serui, Papua, Indonesia. The only reason I live here is because I have work here for 4 years, after this I will be moved to another random city in Indonesia. I’m still going to Jakarta every 2 months because my family is all there. Because Serui is not applicable to this assignment, I will use my home city-which is Jakarta- as the place I live, for the sake of this exercise. The reason I live in Jakarta: 1. I was born and raised here. 2. Every goods and services that I want is available easily. 3. As the capital of Indonesia, Jakarta offers the best economic stability, best health care, and best education through out Indonesia. 4. Huge job opportunities. 5. Jakarta doesn’t have a good safety record, but compared to other big cities in Indonesia, Jakarta did give me some piece of mind that it’s safe to live there. I'm not sure what photo should I upload, so I picked this picture because it shows that Jakarta is a big and growing city, means it offers goods and services while giving economic stability. Question 3. To what extend does your own place of residence fulfill your ideal livability criteria? Jakarta livability score: 1. Economy 70 2. Safety 60 3. Climate 30 4. Infrastructure 50 5. Political stability 65 Generally, Jakarta is approximately got 60 point of livability score. Question 4. What would you change? Fortunately, the current mayor is on the right track. The number 1 priority to improve livability in Jakarta is to make a better public transportation. Both MRT and LRT are not in construction throughout Jakarta. After the construction finished, the traffics will be reduced, making less cars/bikes in the streets, ultimately it will lower the temperature of Jakarta a little bit. Question 5. Why do we move? Three places that I would love to move in: 1. Singapore 2. Bandung 3. Yogyakarta Why I choose these three cities: 1. Because they are easy to reach from my family in Jakarta. So it’ll be easy to go back and forth every month or two. 2. They are big cities with good reputations on a lot of aspect. Singapore is good in almost all aspect, Bandung is known for it’s cozy city and cold climate, and Yogjakarta is known for their very low living cost. 3. I have been there several times, that I’m sure that I can live just fine in that city. 4. Friends or family experience on those cities that adding the already good reputation.
