To my knowledge, my city does not measure UHI. Several areas in the city are shaded by very large acaia trees. The city also has two large parks with many trees. This reveals that the early planners were concerned about the urban heat. To my knowledge, recent administrations have implemented no new policies to lower UHI, though they do mostly follow regulations in preserving existing trees and park space.
