When I was visiting Brasilia, the capital of Brazil, one of the top tourism places is the Cathedral. But, for the climate of Brasilia this is an inappropriate use of materials. Steel, cement and huge amount of glass turn the internal temperature of the building uncomfortable, very warm. The visual impact is great but you can not stay much longer in the cathedral. So, the use of mechanical devices to cool the place is mandatory. Using different design and materials approaches could be translated in a more efficient and sustainable building.
