1. Which are your top livability criteria? Education Health Care Job opportunities Environment Infrastructure 2. Why do we live where we live? Cordova is a medium city (~300.000 inhabitants) in Andalusia, the south of Spain. I was born here and probably this is the main reason why I’m living here. Other reasons could be the following: In this town, you can easily go from one place to another by foot or by bike. As a consequence of that, you almost don’t need a car. I could fulfill my universitary studies in the city, as engineer. In spite of the economic crisis and the high rate of unemployment, I could find a stable job. There are several schools in the surrounding of my home and the main Hospital of the province is only 5 minutes by car. Although there isn’t an international airport in the town, there are three airports in less than 3 hours by train both in Seville, Malaga and Madrid. 3. To what extend does your own place of residence fulfill your ideal livability criteria? I particularly would rate it in 80/100 for the above mentioned reasons. However and in general, I’ll provide a 70/100 because there is really a lack of job opportunities, in the summer we live temperatures up to 45ºC and it can be considered a noisy place (traffic) among others. 4. What would you change? The town really needs stable job opportunities. Perhaps assuming that we are surrounded by 2 stronger, dynamic an attractive cities (Málaga and Seville) would help us to develop a livability strategy. Beside, the town needs to order the traffic mess and bet for pedestrians and bikers, so that the traffic noise could be significantly reduced as well as the pollution. Green zones and other measures are a need to combat the infernal temperatures in the summer. 5. Why do we move? I’d move to Barcelona, Seattle or Montevideo or any city that being politically stable fulfil the 5 following requirements: Have job opportunities Have good weather Have good educational infraestructures Have good transport infrastructures Have green zones
