I used three modes of transportation from where I lived in Folsom to where I work in Sacramento. Half of the time I drove, it is a 35-40 minutes drive without traffic and over an hour during rush hours. I still purchased a monthly parking permit. The other half time I took the light rail. I still had to drive to the train station in my home town, but I can walk to most places in downtown Sacramento from one of the stations. Occasionally, I rode my bike down stream along the beautiful American River trail for 42 km, the annual California Marathon starts in front of our neighborhood and ends in the California State Capitol. I wish I can also run the course someday and might even become a rafter down the river to my workplace.
