1. Top Livability Criteria 1 - Economy 2 - Culture 3 - Housing 4 - Transportation 5 - Safety 2. I live in Boston, Massachusetts in the United States. I live here for reasons of: Economy Culture Healthcare Transportation Proximity to Family [Provide a photo] 3. My residence in Boston offers a 75 on the scale of my ideal livability criteria. The Economy and Culture are strong, but investment in Housing Affordability and Transportation is sorely lacking. Safety is well established with minimal corruption or risk to individuals. I would give the city of Boston a general score of 75 as well. 4. The major change that I would make in the city of Boston, to raise the livability of the city, would be to increase investment in public transportation. The aging subway system needs major repairs, systems should be put in place for bus priority, residents should be incentivized to use bicylce networks or pedestrian options whenever possible, and hours and routes should be expanded. Investing in this public resource now will support the growing city and allow the middle and low income workers to most efficiently pursue work and education opportunities. 5. I would consider moving to the following cities based on their 1) job prospects for a professional in my field, 2) the culture, 3) the cost of living, 4) the transportation network, and 5) safety: Seattle, Toronto, Berlin.
