Increasing Renewable energy production - regional, local and micro production Government should encourage (by some kind on taxes reduction) all business and home owners to use as much renewable energy as possible. Local government should include citizens in policy making and implementation of projects. Energy consumption Reducing the amount of energy consumption for heating and cooling by obligatory energetic passport for every new and old building. Energetic passport is common in Europe, but still not in Serbia. Vegetation Allowing smaller taxes or some kind of economical benefit for buildings that have roof gardens, green walls, gardens in the backyard. The bigger the venation surface is, the smaller the tax is. Electric transport Use of electric busses for public transport. Belgrade already has a few electric buses and they work perfectly. Government should also consider making a strategy for electric cars. Also better system of bicycle paths is a must. Urbanism Using principles of sustainable energy consumption for future projects, considering all available practices in the world, and setting sustainability as a main goal for the next 20 years. Public participation Including people to be a part of decision making is a good practice to ensure project realization and sustainability. Education , workshops, research would significantly contribute to better planning and above all livability.
