I dont have data however you can feel the difference between the areas with high rises and residential areas. In Quito, there is a difference of temperature between the city and the suburb in cumbaya due to the difference in altitude. Cumbaya is mainly residential with hotter climate but in Quito the temperature is much cooler however there is a heat island effect in the city specially in streets with high rises. ![enter image description here][1] ![enter image description here][2] 3. Which are the measures you would propose? The measures I would propose is to install solar panels to take advantage of our own climate and increase vegetation in the city. This way we could help reducing tempreature and making the use of clean electricity. 4. Is UHI effect concerning policy making in your area? There are only regulation of gas emissions but none other that I could find.
