Everyone has seen photos of Hong Kong central anyway. Hong Kong has in general a very high population density, with most residents living in high rise buildings. The buildings are usually close together and canyon effects are obvious here. There is a very noticeable heat difference in built up areas, although when you get to the shopping district, there is so much lost air conditioning coming out of shops that its quite strange to be cool in the street. It would be difficult to improve the heat loading of Hong Kong as the buildings area already to close together, a greater amount of shade in the form of trees would help. There are no community UHI proposals for this part of town that I know of. ![Pokfulam, showing both built up high density housing and in contrast surrounding green with no housing][1] [1]: https://edxuploads.s3.amazonaws.com/14448896709827783.jpg
