2. Data and information for Bristol The area of Bristol is a relatively temperate climate. The city is situated in the south of the country approximately aligned with London longitudinally. The city is the largest in the South West benefits from all four seasons in the year. Bristol's temperature this year for the months of May 17, June 20, July 21 This contrasts with the Forest of Dean's temperature for the same months of May 15.9, June 18.7, July 21.5 Although it is a simple analysis of weather websites, it does appear to show a difference in particular with May and June of a number of degrees celsius. The Forest dean is an area of natural beauty which has an entire forest of trees and streams. Whereas the city of Bristol, whilst it has many parks and vegetation, It could definitely be improved. ![Inner City Street that has many buildings closely that can create a reflectance][1] ![Whilst this site is in the city, it is much more elevated and exposed along a number of facades][2] 3. Proposed Measures If I was able to effect the policies, I would introduce initiatives at multiple levels. I would firstly create a low carb zone for the entire city, that would encourage people to switch to more sustainable modes of transport, I understand that this would not happen overnight and that many people are reliant on vehicles. I would also seek to create a stronger connection of public transportation throughout the city, interconnecting areas better. I would also introduce a requirement for all planning applications to require either green roofs or landscape plans that would enhance SUDS and Landscape/Vegetation. 4. Current Initiatives The city has introduced residents parking zones, to discourage vehicles traversing the city for commuting. They have also introduced a 20 mile per hour limit throughout many areas. They are also looking to extend the services of the railway and are carrying out works to implement a metrobus.
