What are the dominant fossil fuels used in your country?** Using www.iea.org/sankey I discover it that the flow of the energy in the Sankey diagram about Spain. The predominant fossil fuels of our country are most of them directly imported in high amounts from the southerner countries from north Africa (Algeria) or from South Arabia. First of all I have to say that the amount of importations and exportations of Spain is around 160 Mtoe, this data is really interesting to compare different energy sources. - Petrol (Oil importation) is imported in a high amount (65.5Mtoe). Around 41% of the energy used in the country. Almost used in transportation. But 16Mtoe are exported to other countries because of the geographical business position of the country. - Gas is imported also in a high amount (30,5Mtoe). Around 19% comes from imported gas, most of it is used in industry, houses or in electricity production. - Also Coal (13Mtoe) is important but much less than the principal fossil fuels used in the country. 8% is imported and transform into electricity in thermal plants. **2. Where are the dominant fossil fuels mainly used for in your country? (e.g. transport, industry, non-energy use etc.)** Most of them are used in transportation as I said before, around 98% of energy used in transportation come from fossil fuels. The 91% (27Mtoe) come from petrol which is almost imported or transformed, and the 7% come from Biofuel or waste. In industry is used also a high amount of fossil fuels energy sources, 17% from petrol (3,5Mtoe), the rest is composed also by Biofuels and waste or come from Coal. **3. It is your task to create a new policy in order to improve the environmental friendly and sustainable sources and consumption of energy of your country. How would you do that?** Electric cars will be the solution with a really powerful renewables energies production in the country. Spain has everything to have a really high qualified renewable energy. The sun, wind, mountains with dams and lakes, and the sea make it as a really good country to support investment in this ecological energies. Making a good infrastructure will let the exportation of clean energy then supporting the change into an electric vehicle society will lower the imports of fossil fuels energies. This will contribute to stop the climate change, to improve health in cities, to avoid partially urban thermal heating and of course it will puss the economic situation avoiding importations and making benefits from exportations to other lands. ![Almería, solar-steam power plant][5] Almería, solar-steam power plant [1]: https://edxuploads.s3.amazonaws.com/14460460698390744.png [2]: https://edxuploads.s3.amazonaws.com/14460460356746381.png [3]: https://edxuploads.s3.amazonaws.com/14460460425246661.png [4]: https://edxuploads.s3.amazonaws.com/14460460498445909.png [5]: https://edxuploads.s3.amazonaws.com/14460459503605798.jpg
