For me, the concept of "Livability" of a city refers to the question : "What do we want from a city?," and this question has many answers, such as: A safe place to live, a place where people can do outdoor activities in parks or other areas, a place with a good public transportation system, and good quality of all the other services that we need to work or live without making an impact on the environment. I believe that in the future, our cities will be more livable, because we are in a moment where climate change, disorderly population growth, etc are making an impact on our lives. **2. If you need to define livability with the following terms, how would you rank them? (1: most important - 7: least important)** Transportation (safe and convenient options) 1 Environment (clean air and water) 2 Neighborhood (access to life, work and play) 3 Housing (affordability and access) 4 Opportunity (inclusion and possibilities) 5 Health (prevention, access and quality) 6 Engagement (civic and social involvement) 7 **3. Choose three cities in the United States (preferably cities in different states) and go to the following webpage: https://livabilityindex.aarp.org. Search for the chosen cities at the livability index.** Walden (NY), Racine (WI), St. Cloud (MN) **4. Have a look at the livability scores. How high is the livability score of every city? Please note the scores of this question in a table like the one below.** ![ingrese la descripción de la imagen aquí][1] **5. How much has the livability score of every city changed? Please note the scores of this question in a table like the one below.** ![ingrese la descripción de la imagen aquí][2] **6. Can you explain the change in livability scores of your cities? Do this on basis of the terms in your ranking** Transport is very important to me. When I customized the term Transportation at the Livability index into a higher importance, the livability score in two cities went up and the other went down. This means that transportation in both places is an issue that should be treated to enhance the livability of these places. Moreover, if one city went down, that means transportation here is not an important issue. On the other side, when you shift the bar of Neighborhood as the most important, the customized livability score increases 10% (from 53% to 63%) and it means that not all places have the same issues to improve and they have different requirements.
