Reclamation Work for Chep Lak Kok Airport. Photo downloaded from www.jandenul.com Hong Kong International Airport was constructed on a reclaimed land made out of two original small islands, Chep Lak Kok and Lam Chau. On this project, a truly globalized economy in building construction can be seen. The construction consultants who designed were mainly from United Kingdom. The reclamation materials are partly from the original islands, but also imported much from China. Concrete and steel in the construction of the airport are imported from different countries across the globe. Even the engineering and construction man-power were gathered from around the world.
