Most of the granite used for the pedestrian areas was sourced from China and Angola, despite there being granite quarries 1 hour to the East of Toulouse. While the architect concerned did not perhaps choose the most sustainable solution, sourcing the materials from abroad gave him greater choice and of course the cost was also a major factor.
