New laws emerged to encourage the use of the construction system of columns, beams and slabs made out of reinforced concrete with steel above any other technique. Before one could see buildings made out of bamboo, bricks, clay and horse excrement to glue the materials. Now the most of the buildings have concrete, steel, glass as a curtain wall and aluminum for the profiles of the facades. In the first picture can be seeing the construction of a building in Bogota (road 66 and 7th avenue), Colombia, and the steel to reinforce the concrete comes from Brazil, the concrete forms are imported from the United States. Bricks are local also the concrete mix. There are several plants in the savanna. The machinery needed for the work comes from the USA usually . The next photo is intended to show the high tech glass lastly used in buildings, and particularly, the constructions that are trying to achieve a LEED certification. This is a eco-friendly hotel located in the 69 road and 7th avenue, it's facade is made out of a glass panels that control the temperature while allowing the light pass thru. These panels generally come from United States and from Germany. ![Building construction. 7th avenue and 66 road. Bogota.][1] ![Construction of a LEED certificated Hotel. 7th avenue and 69 road.
