This is a robotic garage building built in 2011 in Florianopolis, Brazil, and has not yet been opened by legal problems(this photograph was taken by me in 2012 while still under construction). It has space for 300 cars and is a vertical parking option that takes up much less space in the city than the common parking lots, optimizing the urban voids. The building is located in the city center, next to the town hall and in front of the main and oldest cathedral, and surrounding other buildings of historical values. He pioneered because it has local technology, its facade is **glass** and **steel**, **cement** and **iron** used in the construction of the foundation. **GLASS**: here is very easy to see the glass be used in commercial buildings, even using air conditioning to reduce the intense summer heat. The largest producer of automotive glass and for construction is the Japanese company AGC, which has a factory in Guaratingueta, São Paulo, Brazil in 2016 and expects to provide 80% of the glass to the domestic market. **STEEL**: the Brazil produces 94% of the steel it consumes, the table below shows the "steel park," which are 10 producing states with 14 integrated plants (produce steel from iron ore using mineral or charcoal) 15 semi-integrated mills (do not have the reduction step and use of steel and cast iron scrap). Even producing a huge amount of steel, Brazil exports only 3.3% of its production. ![digite a descrição da imagem aqui][2] I did enriching discoveries that help me understand the connection between the construction of a building and the source of its material. The Brazil produces the vast majority of the raw materials it uses and it reduces the cost of logistics and costruction. Last week I spent there and took a picture of the finished building. ![digite a descrição da imagem aqui][3] [1]: https://edxuploads.s3.amazonaws.com/14324076953898548.jpg [2]: https://edxuploads.s3.amazonaws.com/14324077969420342.jpg [3]: https://edxuploads.s3.amazonaws.com/14324079802489534.jpg
